“From a single sheet of paper and a touch of creative imagination, art is born.”
Short Story

Origami - ori meaning "folding" and kami meaning "paper", is the traditional art of paper folding.

Subtle yet complex, origami celebrates the understated beauty and simplicity in transforming paper into art that can be admired over time.

The practice of origami was first introduced to Japan during the Heian Period (794-1185) and only the most luxurious papers were used in folding. Each sheet was made by hand and individually silk screen printed with gorgeous woodblock patterns and floral designs.

Today there are only a few families in Japan who still practices traditional paper craft techniques, making the paper themselves a timeless artistic expression of Japan’s history.

Staying true to the cultural heritage of origami, Short Story artworks are made with hand and heart from traditional Japanese and specialty papers. Each artwork is individually crafted in Australia and is inspired by a meaningful story.
